With the late afternoon heating up the living areas of the house, AEP Landscapes were asked to construct an awning that not only reduces the heat from the sun but also creates a stunning feature in their landscape.
The designed solution is a bold engineered roofing structure. The four over-sized masonry posts will be rendered in the same colour as the house to give the initial impression that the spotted gum timber roofing is cantilevered from the house.
Kew landscape with views of Melbourne
Set bordering the Yarra in Melbourne, this architecturally designed house is currently in the final stages of construction. The team at AEP Landscapes have commenced landscaping, which includes construction of a bluestone driveway, paving various areas, a feature fire pit, pool coping, soil works, planting and an automatic irrigation system.
We have recently completed the paving to the balcony as well as some smaller landings. Work has commenced on the feature fire pit as well as the stairs leading up to it.
Timber and Wire Screening in Kew
With the new development of houses surrounding this Kew property, the residence required a some additional screening to help maintain privacy. AEP Landscapes was asked to provide a wire mesh screen onto which a climbing plant will be grown, to eventually provide a green screen from the kitchen outlook.
A spotted gum timber screen was constructed at the rear of the Kew property increasing the height of the boundary wall to provide additional privacy to their pool and previously landscaped backyard.
Glen Iris Landscape
Construction is underway on these renovated rental apartments that require an economical and functional landscape with minimal maintenance. The design requires brick edging along all paths that will be later infilled with bitumen. A small functional garden has been created in each unit for the residents to enjoy.
